Cheap Rent Buy Cheap Textbooks

It's is virtually that time of year again, time to begin planning for your next semester. It is surprising how fast a new semester sneaks up on us. One of the un-pleasantries that pop up with a new semester is the need to buy your textbooks. You could stroll down to the University bookstore where they are going to be very happy to relieve you of a ton of cash. Or you could use an internet textbook site to obtain your textbooks at a much lower cost.

Do you know that the average student spends over $900 a year on college books? And if they use student loan money for the textbooks the students are not only paying the $900 now but are paying interest on this money year after year till the school loans are paid off. After only a few years this means you are actually spending $1500 or even more for one year worth of textbooks. This makes finding cheap college textbooks much more crucial.

Step 1 is to log into your school's site and look up your courses to get a list of the necessary textbooks. Once you get this list of books you can go online to find them as cheap used textbooks or as rental textbooks. But which format is cheaper, buying used or renting? Depending on the book needed the answer's not always the same.

One of the critical tools to find who offers the cheapest price and the cheapest format is to use a textbook price comparison service. Enter the ISBN and get a report that lists all the used textbook and rental textbook sites with their prices. When comparing textbook prices remember that rental textbooks don't have any sell back value. The cheapest price may not be at the same site for all of your textbooks. Pricing is based on demand and supply and changes daily. It is really important to price compare each book to maximize your savings.

Taking only a few seconds to use a comparison service will lower your textbook expenses and possibly the amount needed for student loans.
